Parliament is dissolved and the Writ of Election is issued

Nomination Day
Prospective candidates file nomination papers. Day 1 of campaign period
April 23 - May 1
Campaign Period
9 days of campaigning with rallies and walkabouts
May 2
Cooling-Off Day
No campaigning allowed. A day for voters to reflect before casting their votes
May 3
Polling Day
Polls will be open from 8am to 8pm for voters to cast their ballots
